ABOUT THE BAND

The Mile Markers came together in 2024, born from Leah Jean’s vision to bring something bigger to her music—a full, energetic sound that could bring out the true feeling of country music. What started with a little Facebook research, some networking, and a little of God’s grace quickly grew into a talented ensemble with a shared love for country music and live performance.

Adding lively instrumentation and an undeniable sense of fun to Leah’s strong vocals, Leah Jean and the Mile Markers bring a fresh, heartfelt energy to every stage. Whether it’s a local event, restaurant, or bar, the Mile Markers are here to turn up the music, bring people together, and give everyone a reason to tap their toes.

Meet the BAND

Rick Johnson

Bass Player

Rick has 25+ years of experience playing the bass and the guitar, and was a prominent member of King Band for 20 years. Rick is inspired by rock music artists like Def Leppard and classic country like Johnny Cash. He has been playing with the Mile Markers for over 2 years.
Ryan Ritter

FIDDLE

Ryan brings a fun energy to each song with his fiddling riffs and creative fills. Ryan’s background is in bluegrass, irish, and country music.
Josh Van Winkle

DRUMS AND CAJON

Josh is skilled cajon player and percussionist. He brings the beat to each song, driving the toe-tapping energy of the band.
Tod Brusske

LEAD GUITAR

Tod has been playing with the Mile Markers on lead guitar for over 2 years and has experience for 20 years playing in the King band on lead guitar.
